In the knowledge economy, the connection to poles of innovation is key. Like essential infrastructure – highways and utility lines – countries also need to build intangible bridges that allow the flow of knowledge.

Those bridges of knowledge are a public good that need to be nurtured at the national and state level. Government leadership is fundamental, but they also require close collaboration from the private sector to achieve effective results.

ChileMass, located in Boston, one of the world’s top innovation hubs, is playing that role, actively creating collaborations between the public and the private sectors in a nimble and innovative way.

We are a non-profit organization (501c3) incorporated in the United States, which has the support of the Chilean and Massachusetts governments. We are the result of one of the pillars of Chile foreign policy, which seeks to promote collaborations in science, technology, and education to help the country insert into the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The ChileMass office is located in Kendall Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Cambridge Innovation Center.

We focus on

Technology

We are excited to help develop – through R&D, governmental and corporate collaborations – projects in the areas of Robotics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Biotech, Agtech, and so much more.

Energy

We are actively identifying collaborative renewable energy projects that include sustainable sources like wind, solar, geothermal, and green hydrogen, amplifying our network that looks to foster clean technologies.

Education

With the best public education system in the US and the largest concentration of universities ranked among the best in the world, Massachusetts is an excellent ally for the development of educational projects with Chile. We expect to grow with more programs and connect with leaders in the educational field in both territories.

Economic Development

We strongly believe in fostering innovation as a way to help our country grow and become a strong and developed country. That is why we have signed several agreements with government agencies, companies and associations, and foundations in both territories to strengthen and widen our work.
