93%Met or exceeded expectations
Chilean natural persons or residents in the country, over 21 years of age at the time of applying, who are teachers or students in their last years of pedagogy.
Universities, educational foundations, schools and companies can apply and send a group of teachers that meet the previous requirements.
The ChileMass Teachers Program is a comprehensive interactive program to improve the learning of the English language by developing the teaching skills and strategies of Chilean teachers. The year-long program weaves class, activities, and experiences to model and build on specific strategies that promote student-centered learning, 21st Century learning skills (collaboration, communication, creativity and critical-thinking), and social-emotional development in the classroom.
The program is carried out in four stages: 1) Preparation stage, 2) Digital stage in Chile, 3) Face-to-face stage in Boston and 4) Implementation stage in Chile. The program consists of three areas of deepening to maximize the teaching experience: theoretical content, experience and, upon returning to Chile, application in their educational environment.
We believe that experience is transformative. Our teachers improve their English skills while living on campus and interacting with the university community, actively learning new pedagogies and venturing into individual guided intercultural experiences.

- Experiential Learning: Teachers were invited to explore public venues (museums, monuments) as “students” as well as teachers to experience how education can take many forms outside the classroom.
- Exchange with American educators.
- Independent exploration.
When they return to Chile they will have:
- Mentoring project with monthly meeting with a professor from Framingham State University.

Testimonio 1
“The experience I’ve gained at FSU – it opened my eyes to another world. We had de opportunity to teach a lesson in a school in Brockton and that was like a dream come true for us. English teachers teaching in a country whose native language is English – It was the best part of experience. What I learned from Brockton and the UDL lessons, I have a lot of ideas that I can take back to my school. I will never forget this – being here and learning a lot and being part of this group ”
